Nobres Recitais | Freddy Kempf
Freddy Kempf, piano and conductor.

Synopsis
As the story goes Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was drinking with friends on the night of 28th October, 1787 – the night just before “Don Giovanni’s” premiere – and had not written a single note for its Ouverture, K.527. He returned home around midnight and composed this work within about 3 hours. As is often the case with Mozart, his ability to compose works of genius seems to defy the laws of human nature itself. The Piano Concerto nº22 in E flat Major, K.482, was premiered in Vienna on 23rd December 1785 with Mozart as soloist, at a time the composer was already busy in the composition of his opera “Le Nozze di Figaro”. Out of the 27 piano concerti Mozart wrote, this is the very first he makes use of the clarinet in a score of particular elegance and aristocratic poise and with an often difficult writing for the soloist. We have no sound proof that Symphony nº40 in G Minor, K.550, was ever premiered during Mozart’s life. Completed in 1788, this symphony in four movements is, together with Symphony nº25, the only symphony Mozart ever wrote in a minor key.
